May Bliss Yoga Newsletter

After choosing his birth day carefully Jai Thomas Joseph came into this world 7 May 2013.  He was born gently at home in water and Yoga played a massive part in him being born so peacefully.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your well wishes and your support.  I feel truly grateful to have you in my life.  There are a few extra special people that I would like to thank.

The beautiful San from Sun Holistics Massage Therapist and Reflexologist.  San is specially qualified in Reflexology for Pregnancy and in addition to my Yoga practice helped me through my Pregnancy with as little discomfort as possible.  Reflexology can help with your energy levels, digestion, balancing hormones and much more.  Whether you are pregnant or not Reflexology is wonderful and I would whole heartedly recommend her treatments.   Contact San – mention Bliss Yoga Norwich and receive 10% off any treatment.

 YOGA WITH  LESZEK

Old Red Lion, Castle Acre, Bailey Street, Norfolk, P32 2AG

                Saturday 25th May
                Sunday 26th May
                Monday 27th May
(possibility of attending one day only or one session only)

Leszek Mioduchowski has been practising yoga for over 30 years. Having originally trained in Iyengar yoga (with a certificate RMYI from Pune), he continues to pay regular visits to the Iyengar institute in Pune. Over the years, he has practised in line with the instructions of Gabriella Giubilaro (an Iyengar teacher from Italy), Prashant Iyengar and BKS Iyengar himself.

Leszek started teaching yoga in Poland in 1984 and has subsequently developed his own teaching method. He has led numerous yoga classes and workshops in Poland, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Slovakia, Russia and other European countries.

Leszek’s engineering background has given him a special understanding of the human body in its construction and dynamic. Inspired by the work of Prashant Iyengar, he has developed a whole system of working in asana using ropes and belts, enabling students of all abilities both to access the benefits of asana, and experience the effects of asana on a deeper level.

It is Leszek’s belief that practising asana enables people to lay a foundation for further spiritual practice, and that the Iyengar yoga system is an excellent too l, maintaining the body in a state of readiness and openness to spiritual practices.

On his yoga journey, Leszek developed “Mindful Eating Practice”, based on the mindfulness principles found both in Iyengar yoga and Vipassana meditation. In 1995 he started teaching this unique method to groups in numerous workshops in Eastern Europe.

He practises Vipassana meditation according to the instructions of Ashin Ottama, and experiments with dynamic meditation based on Osho practices.

In his teaching Leszek tries to encourage his students’ independence and clear vision of what really is around them and in the universe.

The British Wheel of Yoga

Presents an open Workshop with

SIMONA HERNANDEZ

On Saturday 18 May 2013 at The Costessey Centre.Longwater Lane. Old Costessey. Norwich. NR8 5AH
From 10am to 4pm (arrival by 9.45 please)

Anusara Yoga - The Three Goddesses

Join Simona Hernandez, for a day of story-telling and play as we explore the 3 Goddess energies which weave together as “Shakti” - the creative power of the Universe. The morning will be a mixture of asana, pranayama, and meditation; effort, softness, and sankalpa ~ the energy of intention which directs the creative Shakti into form. The afternoon will explore some hip-opening postures and meditation and how we face challenges on our mats. Do we fall into the role of Kali, Saraswati or Lakshmi? Is there a balance between all 3?

The 3 Goddesses from Indian philosophy: Kali, Saraswati, and Lakshmi correspond beautifully with the 3A’s of Anusara yoga ~ Attitude, Alignment, and Action culminating in exquisite artistry as each pose expands and refines into the highest expression of itself and dissolves once again into the stillness of sankalpa from which it arose. Being able to recognize how each Goddess reveals or conceals herself in our own heart allows us to return to the place of wholeness and balance, where all 3 energies exist appropriately and so become the creator of our own experience ~ and this is the true gift of yoga.

Simona loves the stories and mythology of yoga and weaves it through her classes, encouraging students to experience the deeper meaning within the physical practice
